Cassandra was born to a wealthy San Francisco family, the youngest of four children. She first discovered her power at the age of 6 when she accidentally lit the curtains on fire. Years later Cassandra adopted the name Firebreath and decided to embrace her powers, after discovering other youngsters with their own gifts. These acquaintances also lead her to professor Charles Xavier's school for the gifted. There she met many of her closest friends and learned to control her powers in a whole new way.
