With the months passing quickly, the soon-to-be-parents had begun preparing for the baby's arrival. Baby-proofing rooms, and working on the nursery.

"How about John for a boy?" Cassandra asked while dipping her brush in the paint. They'd gone for a neutral color to stay faithful to their plan to find out the gender during birth. She paused for a moment to rest a hand on her growing baby bump, smiling as she waited to hear his opinion.

"Does this make it better or worse?" He grinned as he wriggled down against her so he was lower and could start kissing at her neck easier.

"Both, but in a good way." She bit her lip at how good his kisses felt on that sensitive spot. "Please don't stop."

He knew all the best spots to kiss for her. So with the bump it was a little more tricky in but making out with her on the sofa could still be fun instead of anything else. "When's your husband going to be home?" He smirked. Well she had said he looked like the handyman...

She smirked back, tilting her head for more kisses. She'd love to make out. "He's working late."

"Well then... I'll have to keep you company, can't leave a beautiful woman like you all home alone." He grinned, wondering how long he could keep the joke going.

"I'd like that. It's so lonely here." She giggled, stroking his cheek lovingly.

"I'll never leave you." He wasn't joking around then, it was something that worried him a little. That one day he'd do something dumb and leave her alone. He couldn't do that to her. To them. To their baby.

"Hey.." Cassandra cupped his cheek, looking into his blue eyes. "I know that. You're the most loving man I've ever met." She knew in her heart that he'd never do that to her on purpose. She smiled before leaning in to kiss him.

He thought his ex might have something to say about that. But Cass made it easy to be caring and loving to her. He'd changed, he knew that. Cass had done something wonderful for him. He tilted his head so he could kiss her again.

She was happy to continue kissing him. He had done something wonderful to her as well. He'd healed the heartbreak that her ex had caused and replaced it with a future full of love, and cute babies.

"Your kisses are really addicting."

He'd never really planned for babies before her so it was new and it felt right.

"I was going to say the same thing for you. I don't know how I keep my hands off you sometimes."

"I still remember the flutter in my chest when you kissed me for the first time. So gentle and amazing."

That night had been special in so many ways. The beginning of true happiness.

"Really?" He remembered it too. "I was scared. I didn't want to screw everything up. I liked you and I didn't want to... you know what, it doesn't matter. I was just scared."

"It was exactly what I needed to calm my own fear. You've been so good to me and my heart."

He had the perfect timing. The memory of the first time his lips touched hers made her blush.

"I've never been kissed like that before."

"I wasn't that good." He laughed, he liked to think he'd improved a little over time. "I hope I have got better though."

"Your kiss told me that you like me genuinely. And each one after that has only made the feeling stronger." She said honestly, caressing his cheek gently. "Every kiss is even better than the last. And I want you to kiss me right now, babe."

"That is because I did. I do." He almost rolled his eyes at her that it was silly that she said that. But it made sense to him.

He gently kissed her then, slowly with all that love he had for her, just as she'd implied about their kisses.

She realised how silly it sounded, but she trusted him to know what it meant. "I know.. The first person who does. Peter liked doing his own thing a bit too much."

She smiled into the kiss, her heart fluttering in that familiar way.

"I like my job a lot but I love coming home to you." He felt it important she knew that. That he always wanted to come home to her.

"I love that it's you coming home to me. To us."

She held his hand and placed it on her bump. He made her biggest dream come true.

"From a teenage girl's crush to the love of my life, the father of my children."

He moved his hand, gently caressing her bump, thinking he might get kicked again if he wasn't even more careful than usual. "It was because I was the bad boy wasn't it?" He laughed. He wasn't compared to some other people he knew.

"Still planning on more then." He looked at her a little more serious. "Let's make sure you and this one are okay first, then we can worry about more because we can't keep our hands off each other."

"Guilty as charged. I looked forward to our classes together.. And yeah, I did have my typical high school movie moments of watching you walk down the hallway, getting shy when you noticed me."

She nuzzled into his neck, sighing softly.

"Sounds good. I want to focus completely on this... To make sure my first pregnancy goes well."

"I hope I wasn't too much of a dick to you." He'd been... well having Scott as a brother sometimes made Alex act out a little.

He moved a hand to stroke her hair. "I'll do everything I possibly can to help you. Craving at 2am? Yeah I'll go find what you want."

"It wasn't too bad, don't worry. I never held it against you." She understood him even if she wasn't telepathic.

"You're the best, babe." The touch made her feel more safe and happy. "This already helps so much.. Being in your arms, your fingers brushing through my hair. Getting to see you smile."

"Babe, I will worry because I love you." He could forget it for the moment though.

He gave her a little lopsided grin. "Your smile makes me happy."
