Cassandra was more than ready to get home and relax with her family after the hectic day. She entered the Summers-Allerdyce residence with a sigh, flicking her keys onto the table and kicking off her shoes.

"I'm home," she called out, not hearing an answer. It soon became apparent why; Alex was sound asleep on the couch with the baby in his arms, looking so adorable, peaceful and happy. The sight was enough to chase off Cass' stress and she just smiled, not wanting to wake them up so she walked quietly. She sat down to watch her family for a moment, thinking to herself how lucky she is.

After finally getting the baby to calm down and fall asleep, he promptly had as well. The little girl now soundly sleeping on his chest had been screaming and crying for... well Alex had no concept of time anymore but any time as far as he was concerned his baby girl was upset was far too long. So as soon as peace had finally settled again he'd passed out as well.

He hadn't heard Cass coming in, that was a sign it was a deep and tired sleep he was in. Ada started to wake up first, making little noises as she could tell her mommy was home. Finally waving her arms which resulted in Alex getting smacked in the face. Which woke him up. Instantly. "Ada..." He spoke softly to the little girl not realising Cass was there because his focus was Ada completely. "Is this you're awake so I'm awake?" He kissed the little girl's head and then looked up to find his wife watching him with his daughter.

"Hey you." He said just as softly and full of love to Cass as he'd just been talking to Ada with. "How's your day been?"

Cass laughed softly when Ada smacked him in the face to wake him up. Their bond really was a special one. They were so cute.

"Hey, you two. It was long.. Busy. But it's all so worth it when I get to come home to you two." She made herself comfortable on the chair, letting out a sigh. "What about you? You two are clearly so exhausted."

Alex sat up, holding Ada to him as he did. Getting ready to pass the little girl over to her mommy. He knew that's what they both want and he was okay with that.

"We decided today was going to be a day where we scream for most of it, even through dinner." He looked at Cass. "Then we took a nap..." Finally. Ada waved her arms again, towards Cass. "Let mommy have a moment then you can say hi. And busy? Really. I want to hear everything." Because even before Ada he liked hearing about Cass' day.

"You've worked hard today. Daddy's amazing, isn't he?" Cass gave Ada a small wave, smiling wider. She'd definitely want to hold her soon, but she wanted to talk to Alex first.

"Well, I gave a few extra classes today. And so many kids needed advice." She loved helping the young mutants, so she didn't mind.

Alex didn't mind, Ada seemed a lot more settled and there was definitely less screaming now Cass was there.

"What advice were they after? Classes? How to cope with their powers?" He smiled at her. Proud of what she did. "Oh no, what to do when your idiot boyfriend goes doing some stupid stunt with his best friend?"

He grinned at Ada. "Yes, your daddy was an idiot just like that."

"Classes, powers.. Some even needed some advice on how to approach their crush." Cass smiled back at him. "It really brings back some memories." She'd never forget her days of having a secret crush on Alex and not knowing what to do about it.

"You two really got up to some mischief. I wonder if Ada has that cheeky gene from you."

He laughed and gently bounced Ada as he did which she seemed to enjoy. "Aww, you're so good for them. Do you know who the kids are that got our old rooms?" Because he was curious. He taught geology, he never really noticed where the kids were apart from in his classroom.

"Oh no. That's not just from me! You can be too!".

She loved watching them together. Alex was amazing with Ada and she looked so happy. It made her happy, too. "Lisa's brother Leo got yours. I'm not sure who has mine." But now she was curious about it, too.

"Okay, we both are," she laughed with him. "We really emphasize that side in each other."

"Oh really. Well, he at least will know about the best feature is that roof you can get out onto. Peace. And. Quiet." He grinned at Ada. "Yes, that was where your mommy and me hid!" He nearly said more that the little girl was way too young to understand but didn't, he just grinned again at Cass this time.

Alex was happy that she embraced that side of herself. "But you're still the sensible one."

"Yeah. The best place for some privacy with that special someone."

Cassandra grinned at Ada, glad that Alex didn't say anything more on the subject. She was still too young to understand. Then she grinned at him, too.

"I try my best to be. It's been a learning experience."

"It was."

He moved and made Ada comfortable against him again. If she went back to sleep he could say a better hello to Cass.

"We made it though." What exactly he meant he didn't say. Moving seemed to have been the wrong thing as he could feel Ada getting unhappy. He stood up with her and put her to his shoulder. "Someone isn't happy." He said trying to sound cheery. He'd had enough screaming, he didn't want more.

She nodded at his words, knowing what he meant without him even needing to say it.

"Hey.." Cass stood up as well, sensing that Alex was still stressed from before and could use the help. She held out her arms to offer to take Ada into her arms. "Come to mommy for a moment."

Alex had to react quickly because as soon as Cass moved Ada reacted to her.

"Well, we know who her favorite parent is." He did not take it personally at all. He was pretty fond of Cass too. He moved closer to Cass handing Ada over to her. "Mommy is." A soft smile over his daughter's head as he did safely.

Then he flopped down where he'd been lay before. No more tears, no more fussing. He wouldn't change anything though.

Alex enjoyed cooking. It wasn't something he'd ever actually thought about before but he had grown to like doing it. Even more when it was for a date night like this with Cass. Well, it wasn't a proper date night he guessed but it was certainly special. He got everything ready in the kitchen, keeping an ear ready in case that Ada started to stir so he could at least try and stop her waking up Cass early. He then moved to set the table for them both, candles as well to make it a little more special.

Checking on Ada, he smiled as she still slept on, stars from her nightlight moving around the room. Then he stood in the doorway to the bedroom he shared with Cass. Smiling at her as she looked so peaceful in the bed still.

"You awake?" He said softly.

She slept long enough to have a pleasant dream about her and Alex, about their wonderful future together.

She stirred awake with a smile, looking at her husband.

"Yeah.. Really needed that rest." Cass sat up, stretching with a happy sigh.

"It smells delicious."

"I hope it tastes as good as it smells then. I made your favorite." He smiled as he walked over to her. "Do you want me to pass you clothes or just a dressing gown?"

"Oh you're the best." She sat on the edge of the bed. "A dressing gown is good." She was ready to rest some more later on, and maybe more.

He smirked, turning away from her and heading to the closet. He pulled out a box. It had a robe in it along with some interesting lingerie that Alex had meant to give her a while ago but after finding out she was pregnant it got put to one side, then pushed to the back of the closet. He hoped it would still fit her new slightly larger (and still very beautiful) breasts in but she didn't need to wear the rest. Just the robe. He had worried at the time if he'd even got the right size to start with.

"You could just wear the robe..." He set the box down on the bed.

She recognized that smirk and it sparked her curiosity. The box looked really nice, and its contents even more so. She admired the lingerie for a moment.

"I wouldn't mind wearing both. It could be a part of dessert." Cass said with a playful smile. Wanting to give him a show, she stands up and puts on the lingerie in a slow, seductive manner, followed by the robe.

Alex watched her from where he was still standing. He had got the wrong size after all because it fitted her perfectly then. Maybe it was always meant to be a gift for then. That thought made him smile even more as he watched her.

"You look even better than I imagined you would in it." He remembered the woman in the store commenting about how lucky the lady was to be getting that and how he'd replied he was the lucky one buying it for her. They'd all been talking about him as he left after telling them all how in love he was.

"Thank you, honey. It's beautiful." She admired the lingerie, looking at herself in the mirror. It felt so nice when he looked at her like that, with so much love and affection.

A lucky lady, indeed. She went over to give him a long kiss, smiling as she pulled back. "How did you know to buy the perfect size for this time?"

He couldn't help looking at her like that because that was just how he felt when he saw her.

Alex chuckled a little and ducked his head. "I didn't. It's been at the back of my side of the closet since I bought it. I got it the day before you told me about Ada, which was more important than me giving you this so it got pushed to the back and left there because you didn't need to be thinking that you needed to wear that then." She'd had enough to deal with without him appearing with that.

"I clearly got the wrong size at the time but the more I think the more I believe it was always supposed to be given to you now." He shrugged a little, going back to that teenage boy self-doubt that still could creep over him.

She was so grateful to Alex, for everything he had done. He made her feel wanted again. After Peter left, she didn't think she'd deserve to be loved again and then he came along.

"That's so romantic." She was so tempted to keep kissing him, but they had their food to get to first. "I'll thank you properly for this later." The playful glint returned to her eyes as she said that.

He'd tell her she didn't need to thank him for anything of the sort but he saw that look she was giving him and he couldn't deny her whatever it was she wanted to do to him.

"Yes, later, because I am going to make sure everything is still okay for our meal." He held an arm out to her. "Allow me to escort you to dinner m'lady."

She had a few ideas for dessert already, a way to show him her appreciation.

"Oh, I like this side of you, too." Cass smiled as she linked her arm with his, kissing his cheek. "My gentleman."
