With the months passing quickly, the soon-to-be-parents had begun preparing for the baby's arrival. Baby-proofing rooms, and working on the nursery.

"How about John for a boy?" Cassandra asked while dipping her brush in the paint. They'd gone for a neutral color to stay faithful to their plan to find out the gender during birth. She paused for a moment to rest a hand on her growing baby bump, smiling as she waited to hear his opinion.

He felt so lucky with her understanding, she'd been there though, she was the one who had helped him pick up the pieces. He considered it something that had strengthened the bond between them.

"Something like names from classic literature or something."

And she would always be there for him. She loved him so much, and the baby doubled that love.

"I like that idea. Books are underrated." She caressed her bump gently. "What do you think, sweetie?" And right at that moment she felt it; a kick.

"Oh my god.. The baby kicked." She grinned as she guided his hand to the spot.

Alex nearly fell off the sofa as he moved when she said that. It was... he let her guide his hand. The other moving to the opposite side.

"Well, I think that might be an answer of out theme..." He'd started grinning and still hadn't stopped, just moved to a better position to rest his hands. "Are you sure I'll feel it?"

His excitement was contagious. She's glad they could share this special moment.

"Come on, sweetie. Let papa feel your kick." She held his hand over the spot, smiling wider at the second kick. "There.. Did you feel it?"

He felt it. He nodded. Still not believing he was finally getting to feel it. "Is that what you've been feeling for..." He shook his head with a laugh. "When you said..." He laughed. "Oh I'm so sorry baby, all those times I didn't understand." He hadn't understood just how big a kick that was before.

She was glad that he got to feel the kick as well. "It's okay. Now you know." Overwhelmed with happiness, she leaned in to kiss him. "Our baby's strong. And this makes me even more excited for what's ahead."

He kept one hand on the bump as he settled back next to her. pulling the blanket back over them. "It'll be the best adventure with you."

"Likewise. We have so much to look forward to."

She snuggled against him with a happy sigh. The one place where she felt completely safe.

"What book names do we have?"

"What about Scout? Works for either." This might end up with him admitting the books he's read.

"Scout Summers? That's a cute name." Cassandra replied with a smile. "What about Ada or Noah?"

"Actually it might be too close to my brothers name..." Trouble was he kinda liked it now, maybe for #2... Give time for his brother not to think that. He also liked her suggestions. "Noah Summers... That sounds nice." He grinned. "Dorian? Maybe we should suggest it to Scotty, Dorian Grey-Summers?" He hid his face against her laughing at his own bad joke.

"Oh nice one. You should do that." Cassandra laughed along. "And you know I'm still thinking of John, too. The name's been in my family a lot." She ran her fingers through his hair affectionately.

"Whatever name we choose, it'll be so beautiful. We've made a human life together."

He sighed happily at her playing with his hair. One of the reasons he kept it long was for her to be able to do that. "We could give them all that as a middle name?"

"No one's stopping us from doing so, babe." Cassandra smiled fondly at him. She loved playing with his hair. "So many names, so many babies. I love our future."

"Just how many babies are you planning on?" He glanced up at her with a smirk.

[cassandra_firebreath]

"At least three. Knowing us, we'll be trying often." She smirked back, gently playing with his earlobe. "It's hard to keep my hands off, and my panties on, when you give me The Look."

"Oh." He laughed, though it turned to a happy sort of grumble as she mentioned her panties.

"I don't know what look you mean..." He was at least trying not to do that look right then because he knew exactly what she meant. He could stop himself doing that for the moment...

"Well, it's the sexiest look anyone's ever given me. Just makes me want to lay you down and kiss you."

She brushed her fingers through his hair again, slowly moving her hand to cup his cheek.

"You're the most amazing man I've ever met, Alex. And I'm so lucky to call you mine."

"We're on the couch and I'll already gone over the back of it once, because of getting kicked." He laughed, not that he minded falling over for the reason he had.

"All yours." He grinned. Giving her the look that she'd been talking about.

"Oh naughty." She bit her lip at the warmth pooling between her thighs when he gave her the look. "No wonder we already have a baby on the way. You know how to drive me crazy in the best way."

"Me? What about you in those heels!" He did love her in those heels but no she wasn't going to be wearing them then. "Actually, you just being you really." He shrugged. He loved her no matter what she was or wasn't wearing.

"Likewise. You being you is amazing already." She'd stay faithful to their rule of no heels while she's pregnant. "Everything you do makes me so happy."

"Does this make it better or worse?" He grinned as he wriggled down against her so he was lower and could start kissing at her neck easier.

"Both, but in a good way." She bit her lip at how good his kisses felt on that sensitive spot. "Please don't stop."

He knew all the best spots to kiss for her. So with the bump it was a little more tricky in but making out with her on the sofa could still be fun instead of anything else. "When's your husband going to be home?" He smirked. Well she had said he looked like the handyman...
